How to Dehydrate Onions

There's nothing like fresh onions but today I had to preserve some. A kitchen project is keeping me from cooking, and I don't want my onions to go to waste so I'm dehydrating them!

Step 1: chop onions into small 1/2-inch chunks. The size and thickness of your cuts can be whatever you want but it will impact the drying time.

Step 2: lay onions evenly onto a ventilated baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Step 3: set the temperature for 135 degrees F and the timer for 4 hours.

Step 4: Rotate trays halfway through.

Step 5: check onions after 4 hours and continue to dry onions in 1-hour increments if more dry time is needed.

Step 6: Store onions in jars or other reusable packaging.
